Part of the guitarists' sound also passes through the modulation effects. The term "modulation" in electronics means the alteration of the strength of a signal, and that is exactly what happens with this type of pedal. They act directly on the signal of your instrument in several ways, including mixing the signal of your guitar with the signal of the pedal, or dividing the signal into two distinct portions of which only one is altered, leaving the main one intact. Among these effects are the Chorus, the Flanger, the Phaser, the Ring Modulator, the Tremolo and the Vibrato. Boss produces most of these modulations, in different models, many of which have made history such as the Boss TR2 or the Boss BF3 Flanger.
