Back in the '70s, Ned Steinberger guitars and basses were already way ahead of their time.

Now, you can get your hands on your very own statement-making Spirit XT-2 Standard Bass at a great price.

From the renowned Steinberger shape, all the way up to the set-in headless maple neck, this solid-basswood constructed bass packs masses of impact both visually and tonally. Since there is no headstock and barely any body, this bass is also super-lightweight and easily toted in the form-fitting gig bag that comes included.

The Spirit XT-2 Standard Bass: Modern Feel, Double Ball-End Strings and a Pair of Humbuckers

This Steinberger doesn't just look modern but comes with contemporary features including a slim-D profile neck, a slightly flattened 14-inch fretboard radius, and 24 medium jumbo frets that provide ultra-modern playing comfort.

In terms of tuning, it's well worth noting that this bass needs the right strings. Since the Spirit has no headstock, there are no traditional machine heads, and as such, a pack of strings with a ball at each end is needed so that they can securely slot into both the steel nut and DoubleBass Bass bridge.

Once your strings are installed, two fat Steinberger humbuckers deliver thick and fierce amplified sound that can be tweaked to taste using the two dedicated volume pots and single tone pot.
