11106-74-B Duality is a new concept in pickup design, merging the best active and passive technologies to create a versatile and dynamically rich tone palette. Duality active humbucker pickups dispel the notion that you can’t have your cake and eat it too. The Duality architecture revolutionizes pickup design, combining passive voicing and active dynamics into one. Duality’s voicing is derived from traditional magnet coils and an Alnico magnet, just like our passive humbuckers, for sweet sustain and rich harmonics – and is paired with an active preamp designed to emphasize and enhance those natural qualities while also delivering the headroom and power actives are known for. The result is a pickup with strong midrange, punchy and articulate lows and a three-dimensional high end. Powerful and tight enough for metal but open and clear enough for prog, fusion, rock, and even blues. Chords take on new levels of chunk, and single note runs are fluid and airy. And unlike traditional active pickups, Duality cleans up nicely and responds to your picking dynamics naturally – meaning it feels as good to play as it sounds. With the classic good looks and responsive tone of a passive humbucker, and the headroom, clarity and power of an active, Duality truly is the best of both worlds. Duality active pickups are made in Santa Barbara, California, and are available for 6-string or 7-String as a set, or individual neck, bridge or Trembucker.
