Compact, affordable, and rugged enough for serious gigs, the PreSonus® TubePre V2 single-channel professional tube preamp is a great-sounding tool you'll use on a variety of sources, including guitars, basses, and microphones. The signal path features one of PreSonus' renowned XMAX Class A solid-state preamps, followed by a hand-selected 12AX7 tube stage, thoroughly tested for the best audio performance. Turn the Drive saturation control to add just the right amount of tube-like distortion to guitars, basses, or microphone signals. Go lightly for a subtle warmth, or go all out for solid crunch.
A dual-servo gain stage (no capacitors) lets you boost your signal to smoking levels without significantly increasing noise. Discrete components and high-voltage operation deliver dynamic range and detail unmatched by other single-channel tube preamps in its class. A high-pass filter, phantom power, polarity reverse, and a backlit VU meter are also available.
The TubePre V2's rear panel features separate ¼-inch unbalanced and balanced inputs, XLR and ¼-inch unbalanced mic inputs, and balanced XLR and line outputs. Use it as a direct tube preamp or as a dynamite direct box (DI) for guitars and basses. It's housed in a rugged case small enough to carry virtually anywhere, or it can be screw-mounted to a standard rack tray.
