Gibson SG Standard '61 returns to the classic design that made it famous, played and loved, shaping the sounds of generations and musical genres.
In 1961, the Les Paul model was put on hiatus and a new design evolved into what is now known as the SG or "solid guitar".
Characterized by a heavy, strong and deep sound, it quickly became a guitar for the rebels.
Who could forget the iconic images of Pete Townsend smashing his guitar to pieces.
In addition to being described as the "fastest neck in the world" thanks to its slim tapered profile and smooth fingerboard - its association with rock 'n' roll was inevitable
