American Vintage II is a series of extremely accurate reproductions of innovative electric guitars and basses that changed the history of music.
Featuring a body shape, neck, and hardware configuration that faithfully reflect the specifications of the time, and a premium finish, as well as pickups that are voiced by era and meticulously paid attention to detail, this model condenses the essence of authentic Fender craftsmanship and tone. The late 50's and early 60's were a transitional period that saw the introduction of many new features that made PrecisionBass iconic.
In 1960, the Precision Bass design shifted to Stratocaster-style design elements with Telecaster-style design features such as a head shape, contouring, pickguard-mounted electronics, and a four-saddle bridge.
Painted in 3-Color Sunburst and equipped with a 4-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, the 1960 Precision Bass has universal, sophisticated styling.
Features include a premium alder body, PureVintage 60Split-CoilP-Bass pickups, and a 1960 C-shaped maple neck with a 7.25"-radius slab-rose fingerboard and 20 vintage tall frets, giving you the sound of the original model produced in 1960. The feeling is beautifully reproduced.
