Esp EII Horizon III Floyd Rose Black Cherry Fade
The Horizon-III is different in shape from what has become commonly known as ESP's "Horizon"guitars.
The body is slightly shifted around the central axis, the upper horn is elongated and the lower cutaway is deeply cut. In combination with a beautiful curly maple top and the special fade varnish, this results in an instrument that is already visually very impressive.
In terms of wood selection and construction, everything is designed for euphony and sustained vibration.
A continuous neck provides a lot of sustain and effectively compensates for the well-known losses of a free-swinging vibrato system. Mahogany as the base wood brings warmth and fullness to the low midrange, while maple provides the necessary bite.
For the electronics, the designers opted for an alternative to the otherwise popular active EMGs.
Two passive Seymour Duncans, Jazz SH-2 and Custom, humbuckers with medium power, stand for sounds that can rather be located in classic rock. With such pickups, the gain potential can be controlled very well via potentiometer and velocity.
On top of that, the humbuckers can be split, so that even strat-like sounds can be elicited from the precious wood.
The proven, undercut Floyd Rose tremolo has stood for modern playing techniques since 1976. Fans even claim that it was the last great innovation in electric guitar playing.
The Horizon-III is what is known as a "Superstrat", "only comfortable to play, with a powerful, not too fat tone and a truly individual touch. The fact that such a gem can be found among the E-II series pleases professionals and enthusiasts alike.
