His custom all-black D-35 became a signature part of his sound and style, thundering through nearly two decades of live performances. The D-35 Johnny Cash pays tribute to that legendary instrument and one of the most iconic Martin artists of all time. It features an Engelmann spruce top paired with East Indian rosewood back and sides—including the distinctive three-piece back that sets the D-35 apart—for deep, powerful tone and classic Martin resonance. Forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing adds clarity and responsiveness, while the gloss black finish, antique white binding, and abalone rosette reflect Cash’s bold, no-frills aesthetic. A bound ebony fingerboard showcases abalone star inlays and Johnny’s signature at the 20th fret. With a Modified Low Oval neck and optional electronics, it’s built to perform—and it comes in a hardshell case, ready for the road. The D-35 Johnny Cash is more than a guitar—it’s a tribute to the man, the music, and the Martin he made his own.
