Frewraps work best when placed on frets that produce minimal natural harmonics, such as the 1st, 4th, or 6th frets on guitars and basses.
Adjust the strap to dampen the strings without "rubbing" them.
When not in use, slide the frewrap onto the headstock.
Combine two or more frewraps for even better muting, especially during studio recording.
