Costalab Medusa Patch Box
MEDUSA is a compact and functional patch box for guitarists and bassists.
Inside, electro-mechanical automatisms facilitate the connections of the devices present in the pedal board, simplifying the wiring work and reducing the number of cables.
MEDUSA is equipped with 2 Mono and 2 Stereo lines, as well as 1 5-pole DIN connection (all connected) which can be used for MIDI signals, but also for any service connection.
The connections, isolated from each other, avoid annoying ground loops.
The compactness of the product (the box of a 1590B format pedal) allows the connections to be grouped together in a small space, giving order and logic to the wiring work.
Last but not least, the low weight of MEDUSA will not weigh on the total weight of your pedal board.
2/4 wire automation
The pre section (compressors/OD/distortors) is separate from the effects section (modulation/delay/reverbs).
Using two cables everything is connected in series from the first to the last pedal. Using four cables, the effects are in the send/return section of the amplifier, while the pre effects are connected up front.
2/4 wire automation + DIN footswitch
The effects are linked as in the previous example. Furthermore, via the DIN connector, a complex footswitch with multiple buttons controls the different functions of the amplifier.
Stereo amplification
The effects are connected in series, the output is stereo for two amplifiers. Using a single output connector (Amp IN), the stereo signals are summed to return to mono on a single amplifier.
Amp Footswitch
The effects are all connected in series, the top connection (stereo) is used to connect the footswitch (stereo) to change the amplifier's channel.
Controllers
MIDI controllers
The effects are connected through a controller/switcher, which controls the channel change of an amplifier via MIDI. The outputs are connected in stereo.
MIDI controller + service signals
The effects are connected via controller/switcher, the stereo outputs are used for service signals (channel change, activation of boost or amplifier reverbs). MIDI is wired to send or receive program or control changes.
