Allen & Heath ZED 18

Description

    Allen & Heath has added two new models to the ZED line of multifunctional Live and Recording mixers. The new ZED-16FX and ZED-18 each offer 10 full mono channels and 3 and 4 dual stereo channels respectively, to meet market demand for compact mixers with a good number of channels.

    Like other models in the series, the new ZEDs also incorporate USB connectivity, with two-track send and return, for playback, recording and effects directly from a computer. The 10 mono channels use the acclaimed Allen & Heath 'DuoPre' dual-stage preamplifier, three-band MusiQ EQ with semi-parametric mids, and 100mm faders. In a compact rack-mountable format. The stereo inputs have two-band EQ and inputs for an extra source, and 4 aux sends are available, accessible from both mono and stereo channels.

    ZED-16FX also offers an effects processor with Tap tempo delay, 24-bit/48kHz conversion, and a set of 16 effects derived directly from Allen & Heath iLive systems.

    Cakewalk’s SONAR X1 LE software package is included with ZED-18 and ZED-16FX, and provides the user with various functionalities for live mixing, live recording, studio recording or studio mixing. The combination of ZED and SONAR allows you to record a stereo mix, or record individual tracks to create a song, or insert a SONAR plug-in effect into the mix.

    ZED Mixers are built to professional standards, with all potentiometers fixed to the front panel for maximum robustness, and high-quality components, such as Neutrik XLR and Jack connectors.
