Korg wavestate module is the tabletop version, which can also be rack-mounted in 19”, of the latest hardware release MKII of the namesake synthesizer. Same features and functions in a compact design, with 120 voices of polyphony.

In 2020, the acclaimed wavestate took the combination of Wave Sequencing 2.0 and Vector synthesis to the next level. Featuring a radically revamped waveform sequencer, the wavestate offers amazing, ever-evolving sounds with extremely detailed manual control. Far from being a mere nostalgic re-edition of the Wavestation, the wavestate was redesigned from scratch for a new generation of musicians, producers, and composers, taking inspiration from diverse sources such as modular synthesizers, groove boxes, and algorithmic composition.

120 Voices of Polyphony, Updated LFOs, and More

Fully leveraging a new chassis design and new hardware processor, the wavestate module offers an impressive 120-voice stereo polyphony. The new hardware has a 4U rack footprint, the same controls as the keyboard models, but is easily portable and fits perfectly into any studio production system, console, or live setup.

Listening to user requests, we have also updated all LFOs with options for free-running, delayed start, and retriggering, added new modulation sources, and more. The wavestate module is fully compatible with the sounds and samples of the original wavestate, wavestate mk II, wavestate SE, and the wavestate native software, as well as with the numerous third-party libraries sold online.

MIDI 2.0 Support and Polyphonic Aftertouch

With the latest software updates, all wavestate models, hardware and software, now support MIDI 2.0 Property Exchange. Hundreds of the original factory sounds have been updated to include modulation via Polyphonic Aftertouch (including Channel Aftertouch). All this makes the wavestate module a perfect companion for the KORG Keystage controller.

Rack and Desktop Mounting

The wavestate module is intelligently designed for both desktop and rack use (4 units). The front panel has been redesigned to fit a standard 19" width, while the rear panel of the jacks has been recessed to allow easy access to cables. Many musicians requested a module version of the wavestate, and now that the components are again available after a long period of supply chain disruptions, KORG is thrilled to make that request a reality.
