<p>After monotron, monotribe, and MS-20 mini, Korg announces the new VOLCA series of analog synthesizers: <b>Volca Keys Lead synthesizer</b>, <b>Volca Bass bass synthesizer</b>, and the <b>Volca Beats rhythm machine</b>.</p><p>Volca is the new line consisting of 3 analog synthesizers produced by Korg, equipped with a sequencer, a MIDI IN port, and dedicated to generating lead sounds, basses, or electronic drums. These instruments allow for easily obtaining various rich and full-bodied analog sounds, thanks to the presence of carefully selected parameters. The integrated loop sequencer allows for generating musical phrases, bass lines, or rhythms in an extremely intuitive way. You can use them alone, in tandem, all together, connected to each other, or with your DAW. This is possible thanks to the presence of a <b>MIDI IN port</b> that allows you to play the Volca series synths from MIDI keyboards or your computer-based DAW, or by utilizing the sync jack input and output that allow synchronization with other analog instruments (monotribe, for example) and/or with the <b>SyncKontrol</b> app for iPhone. Equipped with an auto-tuning function for the oscillators, which prevents the detuning that analog synths are often subject to, the <b>Volca by Korg</b> series synthesizers can be powered by 6 AA batteries (or by mains power with the optional Korg KA-350 adapter) and feature a built-in speaker to allow you to play anywhere, from the recording studio to club consoles, on trains, planes, during your moments of relaxation in the park.</p><p>KORG VOLCA BEATS: ANALOGUE RHYTHM MACHINE<br />Korg presents the new drum machine that combines the practicality and typical sound of its 6 analog parts with 4 PCM parts, all programmable into a drum pattern thanks to the 16-step sequencer derived from the Electribe series, with Stutter, Active Step, and Step Jump functions. Like the other synths in the Volca series, the Beats features MIDI IN and mini jack sync in and out connections for chaining, synchronizing with other analog synths, playing it from your computer-based DAW, or with external MIDI keyboards. 30 years after the era when analog dominated the world of synthesizers, it is still difficult to do without the classic electronic drum sounds in vogue at that time. Thanks to their full-bodied sound, analog drum machines have the power to stand out in arrangements, as well as being indispensable for many in live performances and electronic music production in the recording studio. The Korg Volca Beats offers 6 sounds that reflect the classic analog style: kick, snare, 2 toms, open and closed hi-hat. The sound generation section has been designed following a careful analysis of the current sound needs of electronic and dance music producers, verifying in detail the sound equipment of the most popular synths and sample libraries on the market. Volca Beats reduces editing parameters to the essential, allowing you to quickly create the sound you desire. For example, using the three parameters Click, Pitch, and Decay, you can create an incredible variety of kick sounds, from the rawest and nastiest that fill the low-frequency range to the driest for the most precise beats. The PCM section of the instrument allows for covering sounds that are difficult to reproduce with analog, such as clap, claves, agogo, and crash. For the PCM engine, Korg also made an effort to create a themed wavetable, with '80s-style lo-fi sounds, which perfectly match the analog section. By adjusting the Speed parameter in the PCM section, you can adapt the pitch of the sounds to your needs. The step sequencer derived from the Electribe series allows for programming rhythmic patterns with extreme simplicity, using the 16 keys/steps. If desired, you can record your patterns live, playing the touch keyboard/trigger that the instrument is equipped with. The Volca Beats sequencer also provides real-time editing functions useful for improvisation during live performances, such as Stutter, which allows simulating rolls or delay-style effects. This will allow you to radically transform the entire pattern, or generate fills between different patterns. The movements of the Stutter potentiometer can also be recorded within the sequence. The Active Step and Step Jump functions make the use of sequences during live sets fun and impactful.
