Slightly undersized in the grip compared to the popular Vater 5B. The Classics 5B is very versatile in many musical applications and playing styles due to its very comfortable grip. Oval nylon tip for a full and bright sound.

Also available in sugar maple.

About the Vater Classics Series: These profiles and sizes have been some of the staple models in the drumstick world since the birth of the “trap set.” Jack Adams [grandfather of Alan & Ron Vater] even hand-lathed some of these drumstick profiles at Jack’s Drum Shop in Boston back in the 1950’s and 60’s. Fast forward to the 1980’s, prior to the launch of the Vater brand, the Vater family found themselves lathing these same drumstick models for their largest customer, who is now one of our direct competitors.

We are revisiting a bit of Vater history with Vater Classics. 6 core models lathed to classic specifications and profiles, just as we made them in our barn in the 1980’s. Now players have the choice of sugar maple or hickory for the Classics 7A, 5A, 5B, 2B, Big Band and 8D Jazz models. Available in both wood and nylon tips.
