The US-1x2HR is the smallest member of the Tascam US-HR series of high-resolution USB audio interfaces. It has one microphone input and one instrument input, making it particularly suitable for simple and intuitive guitar/vocal recordings with a computer. The included loopback function and support for Open Broadcaster Software (OBS Studio), however, also make it an excellent choice for podcasting and live streaming. Last but not least, it is a perfect solution for feeding a PA system with high-quality music from a computer, for example, for a birthday party.

Tascam US-2x2 HR offers higher performance with audio resolution and sampling up to 24-bit/192 kHz, ultra-low latency (Windows PC buffer size starting from four samples), thanks to optimized drivers, Ultra-HDDA microphone preamps with 48-volt phantom power, for superior quality with very low noise, USB Type-C connection, and a rich software package, zero-latency direct monitoring function.

The chassis features a unique design with a honeycomb cast aluminum structure on the side panels and a slight upward tilt for ergonomic user advantage.

The Ultra-HDDA (High-Definition Discrete Architecture) microphone preamps are based on a discrete construction and feature ultra-low EIN (equivalent input noise) values, which measure the noise floor, equal to -128 dBu, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 110 dB.

The XLR/TRS combo inputs allow connection of microphones and line devices, such as synthesizers; a wide input gain range ensures sufficient level even with dynamic microphones. A front switch also allows direct input of high-sensitivity instruments such as guitars and basses.

The software control panel allows setting the main functions: mono or stereo direct monitoring, adjustment of the mix between input signals and those from the computer, activation of individual hardware inputs, and setting the Windows buffer size; the Loopback function is also available from the control panel to sum input signals 1/2 with signals 1/2 from the computer, very useful for live streaming: the software slider allows adjusting the final volume of the "broadcast."

Tascam US-2X2 HR is also fully compatible with iOS devices, such as iPad or iPhone, benefiting not only from professional converters but also from MIDI inputs/outputs, and connecting synths or drum machines even to mobile setups.

Tascam US-2X2HR includes a notable bundle of software: the famous DAW Steinberg Cubase LE (including Cubasis LE3 for iOS); IK Multimedia Sample Tank SE, with a 30 Gigabyte sound library and over 2,000 virtual musical instruments; a free 3-month subscription to Antares' Auto-Tune Unlimited, the most famous suite for pitch correction and vocal effects.
