Focal Sub One is an active subwoofer for recording studios with a power of 200W RMS (2x100W class D), with a frequency extension from 32Hz to 120Hz, which employs 2 woofers with 8" (20cm) Slatefiber cones with long excursion designed and manufactured in France by Focal.

Sub One ensures excellent dynamic response without introducing signal distortion, for natural and faithful reproduction of low frequencies. Designed to integrate perfectly into any environment, thanks to its contained width and large reflex vents located on the front panel, Focal Sub One can be placed near walls or under your desk in the control room. The cones, with their particular blueish coloration, are constructed with Slatefiber technology and exclusively produced by the French company in the Saint-Étienne factory using recycled carbon fiber coupled with thermoplastic polymer.

Focal Sub One is an excellent complement to your monitoring system based on speakers from the Alpha EVO (click here) or Shape (click here) series, and more: produce, compose and mix your music by adequately listening to the low frequencies without losing any detail. The robust cabinet was constructed using 2.2cm MDF panels assembled with reinforcement braces. Numerous adjustments and connections are accessible on the rear control panel: from the high-pass filter adjustable to 60Hz or 90Hz to the low-pass crossover (24dB/octave) with a potentiometer for setting the cut-off point, from the volume to the polarity inversion, including a rotary potentiometer for adjusting the phase. There is also a switch to activate/deactivate the "Auto Stand-By" energy-saving function.

The connections available on the Focal Sub One include balanced Left, Right, and LFE audio inputs (female XLR) and outputs (male XLR), a "2.1 Bypass" input on a ¼" TS jack for a footswitch pedal with a corresponding output for a mute function applicable to any other subwoofers present in the listening system.
