Strymon Fairfax analog distortion

Description

Unlike many units that we associate with gain and overdrive, Fairfax is not really a distortion pedal. Instead, it is a complete miniature amplifier in 100% analog form, based on a little-known tube device from the 60s that powered a series of classic rock anthems. The sound and feel of Fairfax are extremely similar to that of a tube, with additional harmonics and saturation coming from an intelligent circuit that emulates the real behavior of a tube amplifier's output transformer. It is a drive pedal that feels completely natural to play, maintains the natural sound of the guitar, and blends notes in a truly organic way.
