The SSL UC1 is a hardware plugin controller like no other. Dedicated controls for the EQ and Dynamics sections of the channel (one knob per function), a central section with full controls for the Bus Compressor, and an authentic moving-coil VU Meter to display gain reduction, all combine to offer the most creative, intuitive, and effective solution for controlling the new SSL Native Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 plugins within your DAW.

The production tools offered by SSL are now a benchmark for ergonomics and workflow in studios around the world. UC1 leverages decades of experience in analog and digital console design and synthesizes into a decidedly innovative product: an intelligent and deeply integrated SSL plugin control surface, essential for focusing on production goals rather than the process. The care with which the UC1's encoders, switches, and colors have been arranged represents the professional ergonomics typical of SSL consoles, perfectly integrated with our new Channel Strip and Bus Compressor plugins. The operator will always feel at ease thanks to the multiple parameters that can be controlled simultaneously and precisely, and thanks to the layout specifically designed to provide a high level of comfort during long studio sessions.

Every detail on the UC1 has been crafted to keep your mix under control and how it changes during the processing. Dedicated front panel encoders, accompanied by a high-resolution display, allow you to quickly move between Channel Strip and Bus Compressor instances directly from the control surface. It is also possible to load presets and change the processing order within the Channel Strip.

The 360º Plug-in Mixer offers an efficient way to interact with multiple plugins simultaneously, further bridging the gap between console and in-the-box workflow. UC1 Channel Strip and Bus Compressor provide dedicated controls for all key parameters of the Channel Strip 2 plugin. The controls for EQ, Filters, Compressor, and Gate/Expander offer the same configuration and visual feedback found on large-format SSL consoles, making it easier to feel comfortable during studio work.

In the central section of the UC1 are the Bus Compressor controls. The authentic layout and central VU meter give the distinct feeling of getting your hands on a real hardware bus comp, in the central section of a real SSL console. With a moving-coil meter for gain reduction, identical to what has been found on SSL consoles since the 1970s, accurately representing the gain reduction and release times of the bus compressor, producers and sound engineers will always have exact control over how they react with instruments, sub-groups, and of course, the mix bus.

Solid State Logic has officially launched the new SSL 360° Link plugin, a new software tool that allows users to control any third-party plugin via the UC1 control surface. Using 360° Link, music producers and sound engineers can access any plugin within the SSL 360°-based hybrid workflow. Whether it's reverb, parametric EQ, or guitar amp simulation, it doesn't matter: UC1 can now control them all.

Full licenses for the SSL Native Channel Strip 2 and Bus Compressor 2 plugins are included with the purchase of the Solid State Logic UC1. Channel Strip 2 is a complete Channel Strip, based on the digital modeling of the EQ and Dynamics curves of the legendary XL 9000 K Superanalogue console. This new V2 version adds SSL's new anti-cramping algorithm and the ability to externally trigger the sidechain circuit of the Dynamics section. Bus Compressor 2 adds some options requested by SSL users over the years, with additional Ratio, Attack, and Release options, and the ability to use an external signal for the sidechain, as well as x2 and x4 oversampling. SSL 360° Link includes a selection of customizable factory mappings for popular SSL channel strip plugins from companies like Slate Digital, Harrison Audio, Universal Audio, and others. The SSL 360° Link plugin can be downloaded for free and is available in AAX Native/AU/VST3/VST formats.
