Scarlett 8i6 is the compact solution for your studio that allows you to keep all your hardware connected and ready to use: you can set up microphones, guitars, and synths and start creating as soon as inspiration strikes. With improved A-D and D-A conversion, your recordings and playback will be clear and detailed with a maximum resolution of 24-bit/192kHz. Two independent high-fidelity headphone outputs with dedicated volume control allow flexible monitoring during recording and mixing.

8i6 offers two third-generation Focusrite Scarlett microphone preamplifiers, which feature the AIR mode. When activated, AIR introduces a specific equalization curve. This is an enhancement of the mid-high frequencies, with a pleasantly noticeable saturation on vocals and acoustic sources in general. AIR mode emulates the function that made the ISA preamplifiers famous. The special Gain Halo meter, an LED surrounding the entire perimeter of the GAIN potentiometer that changes its illumination based on signal intensity, will simplify input level setting to avoid unpleasant distortions and clipping.

Record guitars or basses with the two high-headroom instrument inputs without clipping or unwanted distortion. The six flexible Line inputs – two on the front panel with gain control and four fixed on the rear – allow you to record up to six mono or three stereo Line Level sources, such as synthesizers or drum machines. The MIDI IN and OUT ports on DIN connectors allow you to integrate and control hardware MIDI instruments in your setup. A pair of virtual loopback inputs allows you to capture a stereo feed of any combination of hardware input and software playback channels, simplifying podcasting, live streaming, and sampling.

The balanced outputs of the third-series Scarlett are free from hum when connecting studio monitors with balanced inputs, ensuring the highest quality audio reproduction. Compared to previous series models, third-generation Scarlett interfaces stand out not only for improved dynamics but also for a boosted output level of 6dB when the interface is USB-powered; an important feature that allows you to better manage the Gain Staging of your production without significant repercussions on the listening level.
