Quality pitch and formant effects are hard to come by, especially without a computer. Real-time modification of these effects often results in unpleasant artifacts. With the VT-4, you have perfectly linear and instantaneous control over both pitch and formant, with dedicated sliders for each of these parameters. Drastically change your entire character from male to female, large to small, or good to evil—the choice is yours.

Transformative Effects

Achieving complex vocal effects with the VT-4 is always easy, and you can use multiple effects simultaneously. Use the central Auto-Pitch knob to set the right amount of "hard-tuned" effect, then press the Megaphone button to add a lo-fi vibe. Or route the vocoder through a tape delay or vintage chorus. Each effect has a choice of instantly selectable variations, so you can achieve different vocoder characteristics, various lo-fi effects, polyphonic harmonies, and the most diverse reverb and delay effects. Sequence your effects, adjust the controls as you prefer, and then simply hold down a Preset button to save the configuration. Selecting presets and adjusting controls is simple and immediate, without annoying artifacts, anomalies, or interruptions.

MIDI Control

The VT-4 can function perfectly well on its own, and can harmonize and create vocoder effects without any input other than your voice. But connecting a MIDI keyboard to the VT-4 opens up a world of expressive possibilities, allowing you to control Auto-Pitch, harmony, and vocoder generators in real-time, with the notes you play. You can produce "hard-tune" effects on your voice on specific notes while singing, or instantly create polyphonic harmonies with voices that follow your chords. And with its small footprint, the VT-4 can easily rest on most keyboards, and integrates easily into your setup, instantly delivering powerful choirs and funky vocoders in abundance.
