A collaborative effort by Roland and Studio Electronics, the SE-02 is the debut product in the Roland Boutique Designer Series. The SE-02 uses authentic discrete analog circuitry to create a synthesizer with a distinctly vintage sound and extensive programming options. With a host of high-quality knobs and switches and a unique onboard sequencer, the SE-02 delivers impressive timbres and textures with expressive hands-on control. The SE-02 monophonic synthesizer engine features three voltage-controlled oscillators, a 24dB voltage-controlled low-pass filter, and a dual-gain stage amplifier. The oscillators have six different waveform types with the warmth and complex character associated with true analog VCOs. Plus, these VCOs are temperature-stabilized with auto-tuning, so you get all the benefits and none of the drawbacks. The SE-02 includes a 16-step sequencer to add movement and dimension to your sounds. It can be synchronized with external tempo via MIDI, USB, or trigger input, and via the gate-time, adjustable glide, tempo, and the number of patches are stored with each sequence. Creative performance features allow you to set shuffle mode, scale, direction, and first/last step. Synthesizer parameters can also be automated by sequence changes; just press a step and move a control.
