Description

DI boxes perform several important functions: they are designed as impedance matching and signal balancing for a guitar, keyboard or any line level output source, and direct connection with very long runs to the mic level XLR inputs of a mixing console.

D10A is an active DI box with transformer and requires phantom power to operate. The advantage of a transformer is the ability to avoid any electrical connection between the sound source and the mixer. This offers two advantages: with no electrical path, the ground loop is eliminated and common mode noise cancellation, such as hum, is possible. The advantage of an active DI box over a passive one is zero insertion loss and lower hum and output noise.
