ProD2 RADIAL Engineering Stereo Passive Direct Box is a 2-channel passive direct box ideal for connecting stereo keyboards or other instruments with high output levels to PA systems, professional mixers, or recording systems without noise or other interference.

Top-level DI

At the heart of the design are two high-performance Eclipse ET-DB2 transformers. These provide a performance from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a deviation of less than 1.5 dB above 18 kHz and are able to withstand very high signal levels without distortion. Unlike active circuits that overload when the signal exceeds the rail voltage, transformers saturate. This creates a pleasing effect that naturally rounds out the tone, acting as a subtle limiter, an effect particularly beneficial when connecting ProD2 with digital pianos, samplers, and drum machines that can produce excessive dynamics. Transformers are particularly effective in eliminating hum and noise caused by ground loops.

ProD2 used as a Splitter

Take the mono output from the keyboard and connect it to Channel 1. Use the THRU on Channel 1 to send a split signal to Channel 2. Voilà! Two separate mic-level outputs to send to FOH and monitors!
