HK Audio Polar 12 is an active portable column speaker featuring a mid/high section composed of 6 x 3” drivers and a 1” tweeter in an array configuration, and a sub section comprising a subwoofer with a 12” driver. The drivers of Polar 12 are powered by an integrated 2000W amplifier that includes an integrated DSP and Bluetooth input. The Polar 12 column system offers a complete and customized audio solution for musicians, DJs, entertainers, business presentations, schools, and churches.

Compared to other models in its category, Polar 12 stands out for its impressive depth down to the lowest frequencies, as well as its extremely comprehensive range of features, including an integrated mixer and Bluetooth 5. The high-quality speakers deliver exceptionally transparent and natural sound from the bass to the most refined highs. This ensures an XXL sound experience in every scenario, from discreet background music during a dinner to the energetic climax of an event.

The 24-bit DSP present in Polar 12 offers a homogeneous and low-distortion sound experience across the entire frequency range. The combination of a 1″ tweeter, six high-performance midrange drivers, and an LF speaker provides long throw and wide coverage. The solid cabinet is made of MDF wood and encloses a powerful 2000W amplifier.

The integrated DSP includes three selectable modes (Music, Speech, and DJ), and there is also a selectable parametric equalizer on the Master to adapt the sound character to the venue. In addition, five settings can be stored as user presets and recalled when needed.

When used for events in very large halls or outdoors, Polar 12 can easily function as delay speakers. It is simply necessary to set the distance of the Polar 12 from the main PA using the integrated display, and the DSP automatically calculates the appropriate delay for the distance.

The volume controls for the four channels, the master volume, and the subwoofer are directly accessible in all operating situations. Less frequently used settings, such as the semi-parametric master EQ, can be adjusted via a rotary push control and the easy-to-read display.

The connection system links the mid/high unit, spacer, and subwoofer conveniently, securely, and without wobbling. No cables required.

Dispersion and aiming of the Polar series

With its wide 120° beam and low feedback tendency, Polar 12 is ideal for stage placement. In many cases, another stage monitor is not needed at all. Polar 12 can be installed without the lower column segment, facilitating height adjustment for sound emission, for example, when used on a raised stage. The gradually decreasing volume level ensures consistent sound pressure even at a distance.

When placed on the ground, the subwoofer, spacer, and mid/high unit of Polar 12 combine to create the ideal vertical orientation for both standing and seated audiences.
