KORG is pleased to present POETRY, a digital piano dedicated to the figure of Frédéric Chopin, the great Polish musician. This instrument features a multi-sample specially recorded on the historic PLEYEL 1843 piano, the master's favorite instrument; this is accompanied by the timbre of the renowned Italian concert grand piano used precisely for the prestigious Chopin piano competition. POETRY also has important didactic functions such as a metronome, a digital recorder, and an internal library with a selection of 50 of Chopin's most famous and performed pieces and their included scores.

Two piano sounds celebrating Chopin's figure

KORG Poetry is a digital piano dedicated to the legendary Frédéric Chopin, a historical musician, celebrated classical composer and pianist, internationally beloved. This instrument represents a nearly unique way to approach the Master's music innovatively. Poetry features two distinct piano timbres: the 1843 PLEYEL, a creation from Chopin's 33rd year, and the renowned Italian concert grand piano, favored by many contemporary pianists, used especially in the prestigious International Chopin Competition and on other famous international stages. The timbre of the PLEYEL 3 piano was sampled directly from an original instrument, one of the few remaining, extending over 80 keys and a pitch (tuning fork) of 430 Hz, producing a particular sound that evocatively recalls the sonic world that resonated under the Master's fingers.

Elegant Design

Poetry is crafted with an elegant wooden exterior in "Poetic Brown," inspired by the delicate romantic atmospheres evoked by Chopin's music, with gold finishes on the pedals and leg tips that give it a pleasing retro look. The instrument's dimensions are very compact with a depth of only 26 cm (excluding the anti-tip bracket), and the keyboard cover acts as a music stand when open.

Poetry's RH3 keyboard

Poetry adopts the renowned RH3 Real Weighted Hammer Action 3 keyboard, successfully used in many other keyboards and digital pianos in the KORG catalog. RH3 accurately emulates the tactile sensation of a grand piano, including the variation in touch due to the different hammer weights in the bass and treble areas of the keyboard; this offers the musician a sense of great solidity that translates into greater timbral and expressive control, with the possibility of customizing its dynamics with 5 different response curves: Light, Standard, Heavy, Steady & Constant. RH3 is also manufactured with particular attention to environmental protection; the use of lead or other heavy metals in the hammers has been banned from this component.

Three standard pedals

Poetry has the three standard piano pedals: Damper, Soft, Sostenuto, essential for performing any repertoire, compatible with the "half pedal" function. This way, additional expressive details and nuances can be introduced into each performance, enhancing the richness of musical articulation.

50 Chopin masterpieces

The Song Library of Poetry features a selection of 50 Chopin masterpieces meticulously crafted on the piano itself. It is possible to easily and quickly compare the timbral differences between the Italian piano and the PLEYEL. These pieces can be used for study, to deepen one's knowledge using the included scores, or simply to listen and enjoy the beauty of the music produced. 

The Recorder

Poetry features an internal two-part Recorder that allows you to record and listen back to your performances, a useful educational function for evaluating your progress in piano study, or a creative one for instantly capturing an idea or musical inspiration. It is also possible to record the right or left hand parts separately, even at a slower tempo, or use the recorded piece as musical accompaniment to play along with.

Exclusive functions

Poetry features a practical internal metronome that can be activated and deactivated with a simple touch of a button, ideal for lessons, daily practice, or improving one's timing. Additionally, by pressing two sound selection buttons simultaneously, the Layer mode is activated, allowing two timbres to be superimposed for even richer performances. The important didactic Partner mode is also available, which allows the keyboard to be divided into two equal parts with the same range, important for lessons with an in-person teacher, or for performing pieces for two pianos.
