Description

The Pittsburgh Modular Taiga is a fully analog, paraphonic, desktop Eurorack synthesizer with a deep and complex sound palette. The Taiga is a versatile synthesizer comprised of many features and functions you would expect from a complete modular setup. It has three distinctive components developed by Pittsburgh to make it stand out: three oscillators with complex waveshaping capabilities, a sonically tailored Pittsburgh filter, and dynamic VCA and low-pass gate control. The oscillators feed into an intricate waveshaping engine, outputting up to four waveforms which can be combined and folded by a unique six-stage wavefolder. The Pittsburgh filter sweeps the entire frequency range of audio signals with a warm and full curve with no dead spots or low-frequency attenuation.

The Dynamic controller replaces the VCA found in most conventional synthesizers, using innovations based on traditional low-pass gates to add physical world properties to your sounds. It has three modes: VCA, low pass gate, and plucked low pass gate. Echoes is an analog delay effect of the Taiga, employing two analog BBD chips with over 4000 capacitors each, producing a voltage-controlled analog signal. The Taiga has its own preset signal routing, meaning you can use it right away, it also has extensive mapping capabilities with 60 CV inputs and outputs. Taiga also features other really useful and fun features such as an arpeggiator, MIDI to CV inputs, an LFO, a preamp, and a mixer. It's a compact and powerful synth with endless sound sculpting capabilities.
