The Pa600 internal library includes over 950 sounds, including a revamped GM sound set, and 64 Drumkits. Among these is a stereo, multilayer acoustic piano, accurately sampled from a concert grand piano, including string and pedal resonance. All sounds are fully editable and savable by the user in the User area. A large powered USER RAM area (96MB) is also available (meaning it does not lose data when the keyboard is switched off), for importing personal Samples in the most common formats.

Pa600 Effects

All Pa600 sounds are processed by 4 Stereo Master Effects processors, with 125 different effect types, ranging from reverbs, delays, and choruses to those created with proprietary physical modeling REMS technology, recognized as top-tier for guitar effects reproduction. Each track has an equalizer with Low, Mid, and High controls, with the ability to save a personal equalization curve in the general preferences in Song Play mode. This allows you to easily adapt the sounds of any SMF to personal taste. If, for example, a bass timbre needs to be less prominent, you can save the desired equalization, fixing it for all played songs. The final character of the Pa600's sound is further defined by a Limiter and a 4-band parametric Master EQ. These processors can adapt the overall sound of the instrument to personal taste or correct its response in an acoustically challenging environment.

Styles

The Pa600 Styles have been created by an international team of expert musicians, resulting in great realism and effectiveness across all musical genres. Each style provides up to 8 interactive backing tracks, structured with 4 Variations, 4 Fills, a Break, 3 Intros, and 3 Endings. Furthermore, the Transposition Tables and Guitar Mode 2 enhance the quality and versatility of each accompaniment, especially for guitar parts. Each Style is also easily customizable for sound assignment, their Mix, and effects, and can, of course, be programmed entirely. The Style section also includes the Chord Sequencer function, which records and plays back a chord progression, leaving both hands free to perform lead parts, for example.

Compact and Lightweight

The Pa600 is one of the easiest arrangers to transport, yet despite its compact size, it features a specially designed, high-quality, and high-performance amplification system. Two 15-watt amplifiers drive two speakers in a Bass Reflex enclosure, giving the instrument a rich and immersive sound.

Pa600 User Interface

The Pa600 user interface is based on the interaction between a logically and intuitively laid-out control panel and a bright, colorful Touch Screen Display with appealing graphics. On the Pa600, you just need to think, point, and click – nothing could be easier; KORG technology works for you! To enable musicians to create music quickly, the Pa600 has two operational interface modes: Easy and Expert. Easy mode displays only the most important controls, maintaining a simple and essential interface, useful for beginners or live performers. In Expert mode, you have full access to all parameters. The panel also includes assignable switches to control a wide range of functions in real-time during your performances. Finally, the powerful Search function can quickly find all resources created or stored on the keyboard.

The Player

The Pa600 player can play music files of type: .MID, .KAR, and .MP3. It can also read lyrics and chords contained in most of these files, and add Markers on the fly to MIDI files. For those who prefer to read music, sheet music display with traditional notation is also available. The Score Viewer (musical notation viewer) shows the selected track, among all those available in the current SMF, in clear and simple traditional notation with notes, chords, and text. Chord names can also be displayed in different languages (English and Italian). For those studying music, a function is available that shows each note's name next to it.

The SongBook

The Pa600 SongBook is a fully user-programmable music database that contains all the necessary settings to play a specific musical piece. Simply search for its title, select it, and press PLAY. With the SongBook, you can use Styles, SMFs, or MP3s as performance support, instantly recalling all their settings such as: song title, genre, artist, Tempo, Volumes, Timbres, Mute Tracks, effect settings, Easy Edit mode, STS (*), Master Transpose, and much more. All the parameters needed to instantly perform a song are in the SongBook; an essential function especially for managing a musical repertoire live.

(* STS - Single Touch Setting is a memory that recalls sounds for all real-time tracks (Upper 1, 2, 3 and Lower).

Follow this Playlist for the Italian Video Manual with the main functions of Pa600

KORG Pa600 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Models - 2 versions: Pa600 – “Standard” and “Pa600QT – “Quarter Tone”

Keyboard - 61 velocity-sensitive keys

Sounds - Over 950 (including a Stereo Piano and the GM 2 database) – 64 Drum Kits – Pa600QT: various Middle Eastern sounds and Styles from: Persia, Arabia, and Turkey in demo version.

User - 256 Sounds – 128 Drum Kits

Sound Generation - 128 Oscillators (maximum polyphony 128 voices) – Filters with Resonance

PCM User Memory - 96 MB

Effects & EQ - 4 Stereo Master Effects, with 125 different effect types, 3-band Equalizer for each track – Articulations Limiter, 4-band parametric Equalizer

Other - Dynamic Nuance Control (DNC) Technology, Fully editable Sounds and Drum Kits, Real-time Sound Control on Assignable Switches

Controls - Joystick – 2 Assignable Buttons (Assignable Switches)

Styles - Over 360 internal Styles, fully programmable, User: Up to 1,200 memory locations for Styles in Favorite/User banks

Structure - 8 tracks, 4 Single Touch Settings and 1 Style Performance per Style

Style Controls - 3 Intros, 4 Variations, 4 Fills, Break, 3 Endings, Autofill, Synchro Start/Stop, Tap Tempo/Reset, Manual Bass, Bass Inversion, Memory, Accompaniment Mute, Snare & Kick Designation, STS Mode – Chord Sequencer

Other - Guitar Mode 2, Parallel and Fixed NTT, Style Record with Step Record, Track and Event Edit function

Performance/STS - 320 Realtime Performances

STS (Single Touch Setting) For storing real-time tracks – Up to 4 x Styles, up to 4 x each SongBook entry – Special My Setting Performance for personalized instrument setup

Real-time Tracks - 4 Keyboard tracks (Upper 1, 2, 3, Lower)

Pads - 4 Pad tracks + Stop Button – Pad Record

Song Play - Single Player with controls: Select, Start/Stop, Home, Rewind and Fast Forward, Jukebox Function - Compatible with SMF (format 0 and 1) and MP3 with Vocal Remover - Lyrics (CDG compatible), Score, Marker

Display - 7” Color Graphic; 800 x 480 TFT resolution; TouchView

Sequencer - Quick Record (Backing Sequence), Multitrack and Step Record, 16-track MIDI Sequencer (SMF format) with maximum capacity up to 100,000 events

Song Book - Fully configurable music database, based on Styles, SMF, Karaoke, MP3 with automatic mode selection, Style Play and Song Play - User-programmable Custom Lists – Filtering Option

Search - Search function for: Style, Song, Performance, SongBook, Sound and Lyrics in Lyrics, TXT format

Compatibility - KORG “i” Series: Styles – KORG Pa Series: Styles, Performance, Sounds, PCM, Song, SongBook and Pad

General Controls - Master Volume, Real Time-Acc/Seq.

Balance Volume, Ensemble, Octave Transpose, Master Transpose, Fade In/Out, Tempo Lock, Style Change, Quarter Tone Arabic Scale, User Scale (stored in Performance/STS), Search, Lyrics, Score, Maker, Dial, Tempo, Metronome, Split
