Origin Effects is inspired by the circuits of old Magnatone tube amps for a stompbox that is halfway between overdrive and pitch-vibrato with a vintage soul.

For fans of vintage tube amplification, the Magnatone name needs no introduction.

Tones inspired by the Fender universe and an organic, at times roaring, saturation were combined with an original vibrato circuit quite different from Californian amplifiers: on Magnatone, the vibrato was such in name and in fact, as it actually worked on the pitch of the notes instead of merely making their volume oscillate like a tremolo effect.

With the Magma 57, Origin Effects aims to replicate the saturation and pitch-vibrato circuit found in the historic Magnatone 200 series amplifiers, packaging everything into a practical, boutique-level stompbox.

The Origin Effects Magma 57 Amp Vibrato & Drive is inspired by vintage Magnatones not only in sound, but also in design. The pedal's structure replicates the stages present in a tube amplifier, reconstructing the signal path in a completely analog way.

The overdrive portion is built around the character of the 260, 280, and 213 amplifiers. The knobs are the traditional Drive, Tone, and Output, respectively for saturation, the overall brightness of the effect, and its output level.

The equalization is placed downstream of the gain stage, to effectively shape the voice of the effect in relation to the character of the amplifier you choose to pair it with.

A three-position switch at the bottom customizes its response along with the small potentiometer labeled ADJ.

The two-stage vibrato is inspired by the circuit found in Magnatone 260 and 280. To control it, there are Intensity and Speed knobs, plus a Blend switch to access various levels of incisiveness in the overall sound economy, and a Multi selector for three degrees of oscillation.

At the bottom, separate footswitches individually allow the activation of the preamplification/overdrive effect and the vibrato.

Both buttons are configured in a high-impedance buffered bypass to preserve the sound and characteristics of the direct instrument signal when the stompbox is not in use.
