The Pino Palladino StingRay Fretless 79 Burst is Music Man's signature 4-string fretless electric bass for the famous bassist Pino Palladino, in a 79 Burst finish. Inspired by Pino's original Music Man bass, it features a Poplar body, an asymmetrical Maple neck profile, and a Rosewood fretboard. It is equipped with a vintage-style Alnico V humbucker pickup with magnets wound with original 42-gauge wire, a 9V low-power active preamp calibrated to reproduce the same tonal nuances as Pino's original bass, a Music Man® chrome-plated steel bridge with brass saddles and stainless steel spring mutes, and a meticulously hand-shaped Graph Tech Nubone nut.
