Moog Music presents Minitaur™, the latest addition to Moog's Taurus Bass Synthesizer family. Minitaur is a powerful and compact analog bass synth with the classic "one knob per function" synthesizer structure. It is the first instrument in the Taurus family that does not include a foot pedal and, thanks to its extremely small and compact size (approximately 21 x 13 cm and just over 1kg in weight), it integrates perfectly into the most classic and current musical production setups. The Minitaur marks a new chapter in the history of the Taurus family, introducing important innovations mainly related to its form, control interface, and an unprecedented level of accessibility. The historic Taurus Bass Pedals, introduced 40 years ago, had an extraordinary impact on music in recent decades. Rush, Police, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Phil Collins, Asia, Jean Michel Jarre, Dave Matthews Band, are just some of the big names that have contributed to the legend of this instrument. Now some of these great artists, including Geddy Lee of Rush, have made a tangible contribution to the creation of Minitaur, with technical and practical advice that led to the final realization of the project. Bob Moog always had the habit of comparing his ideas, his sounds, and his instruments with musicians and colleagues. Following this tradition, Minitaur was presented in the testing phase to a large number of artists and producers (in particular, in addition to Geddy Lee, "techno legend" Derrick May, Holy F*ck, and producer Nick Raskulinecz contributed) and each of them was able to give their input to the development of the production process. It is fundamental to reiterate the enthusiasm that these important names had in helping to create an instrument that they themselves will use: the starting point of a new generation in the line of Taurus Bass Synthesizers.
