Description

With its two oscillators, the monotron DUO adds an extra gear to the classic monotron sound, creating powerful and complex sounds. You can tune the oscillators in unison for a fuller, more powerful sound, or tune them at an interval of your choice to create sounds useful for solo parts and/or for creating particular and more complex sounds. The Cross Modulation "X-MOD" circuit derived from the classic Korg Mono/Poly synth allows you to create even more distinctive sonorities, from vibrato to extremely metallic sounds, reminiscent of FM synthesis. The monotron DUO's ribbon keyboard offers an additional function compared to other models, derived from the KAOSSILATOR: you can use a button to select one of the 4 available scales: Chromatic, Major, Minor, or Wide. Select the chromatic scale to play like on a classic keyboard, or the major or minor scale to reproduce musical phrases by simply swiping your finger across the keyboard, without having to worry about intervals. The sound of an analog filter (VCF) can radically enrich and modify a timbre. monotron DUO uses the same VCF circuit as the historic KORG MS-10 and MS-20 semi-modular synths. Made 30 years ago, these synthesizers are still highly sought after by analog synthesis enthusiasts. The VCF Cutoff knob allows you to select the cutoff point of the low-pass filter, while the Peak knob controls the resonance. A powerful filter is an essential element in any analog synthesizer, allowing you to apply radical changes to the sound during your performances. Thanks to the "Aux In" mini-jack input available on the monotron Duo's rear panel, you can connect any external audio source, such as a Kaossilator, a guitar, or a CD and/or .mp3 player, to process it through the resonant low-pass filter available in the monotron family products. monotron DUO has a small speaker, which, combined with its small size and battery power (2 AAA batteries, for about 8 hours of autonomy) will allow you to enjoy the instrument's functions anytime and anywhere. A mini-jack output is also available to connect to headphones, a mixer, or an audio system.

KORG monotron DUO features:

2 analog oscillators (VCO) with independent tuning

Korg Mono/Poly style X-MOD circuit

Ribbon keyboard with selectable scale

Original Analog Filter (VCF) derived from MS-10 and MS-20

Aux Input for connecting/processing external sources

Integrated speaker and battery power

Headphone output

KORG monotron DUO SPECIFICATIONS:

Synthesis structure: 2 VCOs with X-Mod and 1 VCF

Switch: Standby / VCO1 / VCO1+2

Potentiometers: VCO1 Pitch, X-MOD Int., VCO2 Pitch, VCF Cutoff, VCF Peak

Variable scale Ribbon keyboard: Chromatic, Major, Minor and Wide

Volume: Headphone Volume

Aux Input: ?"
