Korg modwave module provides all the features of the modwave mkII wavetable synthesizer in a 4U 19" rack-mountable unit. It can also be used as a desktop unit with two different angles for sitting or standing use.

Korg modwave builds on the legacy of KORG's DW-8000, transforming it into a modern and extremely powerful synthesizer featuring wavetable oscillators, excellent filters, highly flexible modulation, rich polyphony, and a comprehensive pattern sequencer; all of which are immediately and fully controllable to create unique, powerful, and easily customizable sounds.

60 voices of polyphony, updated LFOs and more

Like the modwave mkII, the modwave module offers 60 voices of stereo polyphony, almost double the 32 voices of the original keyboard-based modwave, an unprecedented number for a wavetable synthesizer in this price range. The new 4U rack-mountable chassis has the same controls as the keyboard models but is easily transportable and fits perfectly into any setup: in the studio or live.

Responding to user requests, we have updated all LFOs with free-running, delayed start, and retriggering options. We have also added a pre/post switch for reverb sends, new modulation sources, and more. The modwave module is fully compatible with sounds and samples from the original modwave, modwave mk II and the modwave native software, as well as many third-party libraries.

MIDI 2.0 and Polyphonic Aftertouch Support

With the latest software updates, all wavestate models, hardware and software, now support MIDI 2.0 Property Exchange. Hundreds of the original factory sounds have been updated to include modulation via Polyphonic Aftertouch (including Channel Aftertouch). All of this makes the wavestate module a perfect companion for the KORG Keystage controller.

Rack and Desktop Mounting

The modwave module is intelligently designed for both desktop and rack use (4U footprint). The panel has been redesigned to fit a standard 19" width, and the rear panel of jacks has been recessed to allow easy cable access. Many musicians have requested a module version of the modwave. Now that components are once again available after a long period of supply chain disruptions, KORG is pleased to make that request a reality.
