Description

Korg minilogue Bass is a limited-edition version of the renowned 4-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer with a 16-step sequencer, preloaded with 100 presets dedicated to synth bass sounds. It shares the same sound engine, allows loading programs from the original minilogue, and stands out with its distinctive black panel featuring embossed designs and a black and red keyboard.

Why choose the Korg minilogue Bass?

For its full-bodied, rich, and powerful sounds, with an authentic warm analog character and studio-quality sound. With its analog signal path, compact format, slim yet playable keys, and extensive sound capabilities, KORG's minilogue has established itself as one of the best-selling synthesizers in music history. The minilogue bass was designed and produced in a limited edition to reproduce bass sounds, to inspire and complete your instrument collection, as it comes with sounds created by a specially selected group of bass professionals and sound designers from around the world. A variety of credible, ready-to-use analog synth bass sounds for any need and musical genre.

Distinctive Aesthetics, Same Sound Engine

The minilogue bass's panel is black with special embossed designs that visually represent a synth bass sound. The 37-key velocity-sensitive slim keyboard in a distinctive black (instead of white) and red color scheme contributes to the appealing aesthetic character that will stand out on stage and in the studio. The wooden back panel adds a touch of elegance to the instrument's design.

Professional Bass Presets

All the sounds (100 Programs) of the Korg minilogue bass have been optimized by professional bassists and programmers to perfectly fit any recording or performance, but you are free to modify and customize them to suit your taste and needs. You can adjust the richness of the sound by manipulating the VCOs and/or changing the "Voice" mode, the brilliance of the sound using the VCF low-pass filter configurable in 2 or 4 poles, with resonance, and so on... All 100 presets have been created specifically for the minilogue bass, and you can have up to 200 custom sounds (100 presets and 100 user programs). Furthermore, all programs from the original minilogue will also work perfectly on the minilogue bass, giving you access to a huge sound library covering all possible musical genres and sounds.

Authentic Analog Circuits for Powerful Sound

The minilogue bass's analog synthesizer circuit generates a sound that is difficult to recreate on hardware and software digital synths, as it stands out for certain characteristics ranging from tonal thickness to volume, as well as a wide range of additional harmonics. Moreover, the intuitive panel interface allows for quick adjustments when playing live or in the studio.

The sound structure of the minilogue bass is based on two VCOs, one VCF, two ADSR envelopes (one on the amplifier and one on the filter cutoff), one VCA, one LFO, and features the exclusive wave shaping already known to users and lovers of the minilogue for its ability to vary the waveform reproduced by the VCOs by introducing harmonics. There are also various possibilities for modulating the generated wave: from cross-modulation to oscillator synchronization, up to the truly surprising ring modulator. The high-pass filter and delay expand the sonic possibilities, proving very useful, especially for pluck parts and arpeggios.

The 8 Voice Modes of the minilogue

The four-voice polyphonic structure and the eight voice configuration modes typical of the minilogue allow for an even more robust sound when stacking voices. Different behaviors can be activated by pressing a single button: UNISON to produce rich bass and lead sounds, MONO to add a sub-oscillator tuned an octave below, particularly noticeable on bass, CHORD to play a chord by pressing a single note, POLY (classic 4-voice polyphonic synth), DUO (two notes of polyphony, each reproduced with two stacked voices), DELAY where voices 2 to 4 play delayed in sequence relative to 1, simulating a delay. Then we have ARP to use the 4-voice arpeggiator, and SIDE CHAIN which attenuates the volume of previously played voices. These modes offer variations applicable via the Voice Mode Depth potentiometer.

The 16-step sequencer of the minilogue Bass

Korg minilogue bass is equipped with a polyphonic sequencer capable of storing notes across 16 steps. The sequencer features a motion sequence function to record movements, i.e., automations of up to four parameters controllable by the potentiometers on the instrument's panel. With the sequencer, you can perform real-time recordings - with overdub and step recording - and automatically play phrases by varying the tonic's position, which will follow the key pressed on the keyboard.

The real-time oscilloscope on the Korg minilogue Bass's OLED display: excellent for visual feedback in sound design

The minilogue Oscilloscope

The OLED display features an oscilloscope function to show you in real-time the waveform of the sound you are editing/playing. The ability to visualize parameter variations in real-time provides excellent visual feedback, both in programming and in learning the basics of sound synthesis, as well as being fun and engaging!

minilogue bass Sound Librarian

The Sound Librarian allows you to easily reorder and organize programs within the minilogue bass and save your sound library to your PC or Mac computer. In addition to managing programs, you can use the Sound Librarian to load factory libraries and additional libraries distributed by KORG, including any sound or library from the original minilogue.
