Description

MELBOURNE INSTRUMENTS Roto-Control

Roto-Control redefines software and hardware interactions with fully assignable touch-sensitive motorized knobs, user-definable haptic feedback for detailed control, high-resolution screens with easy-to-read labels for each control, and internal memory capable of storing thousands of assignments. Powerful, compact, and portable, Roto-Control offers three main operating modes: MIX, PLUGIN, and MIDI with Motion Recorder. Roto-Control's motorized knobs are a first for MIDI controllers. They have been custom-designed based on drone motor technology. They feature an extremely robust and highly reliable design that virtually never wears out. Position detection is achieved using a non-contact optical system with extremely high resolution and ultra-low noise. With Roto-Control, you can automatically synchronize track and plugin labels directly from your Logic Pro, Ableton Live, and Bitwig Studio sessions: map once, save to the device, customize everything, and take it anywhere. Roto-Control features three different operating modes perfect for any situation. MIX Mode Plug & Play mixing environment for Digital Audio Workstations. Automatically synchronizes Ableton Live, Bitwig Studio, and Logic Pro sessions: track names and colors will immediately appear on Roto-Control's displays. Roto-Control will automatically update track names and colors when connected to an active DAW session. There is no need to save or edit labels: all data is pulled directly from the active session. In Mix mode, an unlimited number of tracks can be controlled, with support for group tracks that can be opened and closed via Roto-Control. PLUGIN Mode Plugin parameters and labels are imported directly from Ableton Live, Bitwig Studio, and Logic Pro with intuitive, simple, and immediate setup, requiring only one touch. Learn plugin parameters once, and Roto-Control will remember the mapped parameters every time you use Ableton Live, Bitwig Studio, or Logic Pro. All learned plugin parameters are stored locally on Roto-Control, making it quick and easy to use Roto-Control with any setup. MIX and PLUGIN modes complement each other with fast and intuitive switching between modes. Both modes include the full suite of transport controls for Ableton Live, Bitwig Studio, and Logic Pro. MIDI Mode with Motion Recorder Control MIDI hardware and software, including synthesizers, DAWs, lighting systems, multimedia applications, and any MIDI-compatible technology. MIDI mode can operate standalone without the need for a computer. Up to 64 MIDI configurations stored on Roto-Control. Each configuration can include up to 64 controls (32 knobs + 32 assigned buttons). Configurations can be imported and exported via the Roto-Setup app. Ability to send CC, program changes, and MIDI notes using Roto-Control's buttons. Motion recording brings Melbourne Instruments' motorized knob technology to external equipment. Motion Recorder is a creative and fun way to automate and loop MIDI parameters on external hardware and software. Simple one-step record and playback functions.
