Novation Launchkey 61 MK4 is a compact USB MIDI controller for DAW software with a full-size, 5-octave semi-weighted keyboard, eight 360° encoders, 9 faders, and 16 velocity-sensitive pads with polyphonic aftertouch for finger drumming and clip launching. It includes creative Chord, Scale, and arpeggiator generation modes with a step editor. It features a high-visibility OLED display.

Improved DAW Integration  

Launchkey immediately supports all popular DAW software, with perfect and customizable integration for: Ableton Live, Logic, Cubase, Reason Studios, Reaper, FL Studios, and Ardour. With this software, you get a hardware-based workflow that gives you full control over transport functions, timeline navigation, mixing and EQ, clip launching, and effect and instrument parameters. And when using Ableton Live's Session View or Logic's Live Loops, the 16 drum pads also act as Launchpad-style clip launch buttons, with RGB backlighting that perfectly matches what you see on screen.   

More Powerful Creative Tools  

Launchkey 61's creative tools are built right into the hardware itself – so they work the same way in your DAW, with hardware synths, or with mobile devices. Scale modes now allow you to lock your keyboard to a scale of your choice from 30 different scales, so you can eliminate wrong notes or map everything to only the white keys. Fixed Chord mode allows you to play a full chord from a single key; the new Chord Maps mode, however, goes further and allows you to create emotion-packed progressions from Launchkey's pads. And in this latest iteration of our beloved arpeggiator, it's easier than ever to distort and mutate sequences for endless inspiration.   

Extremely Responsive and Expressive FSR Pads

For finger drumming, Launchkey now boasts our patented FSR drum pads, velocity-sensitive and featuring polyphonic aftertouch. Unlike traditional pads, each is equipped with a unique radial sensor that increases its sensitivity and improves consistency, for even more precise performances. In addition, they can also be set to trigger chords or individual notes with polyphonic aftertouch.  

New Custom Modes  

Launchkey controls are not limited by default assignments; simply load the free Components software in your browser and configure them to work exactly as you wish, with software or hardware. You can store up to four custom mappings for both Launchkey's pads and encoders and recall them instantly from the hardware to send chosen notes, MIDI CCs, or program changes.  

Not just computers with Launchkey MK4 

Thanks to the Launchkey 61's 5-pin DIN MIDI output, it's easy to connect hardware synthesizers via an adapter without needing a DAW. Together with Components and custom mappings, you can control all the most important features directly from the keyboard. In addition, Launchkey does not require additional drivers, so it is fully compatible with countless apps used to create music on iPhone and iPad – including the free Novation Launchpad app.

The Launchkey 61 pad keyboard controller includes everything you need to start creating music right away. The included DAW, Ableton Live 12 Lite, allows you to record and perform with up to eight MIDI or audio tracks, in addition to a range of instruments, effects, and creative tools – and it works perfectly with Launchkey. Plus, you also get a selection of additional professional-grade effects and sounds from Novation and Focusrite.
