QSC KC12-BK is a black, 3-way active column speaker with a 3000W Class D amplifier and integrated DSP. The frequency range covered is from 40Hz to 20KHz, max SPL 132dB. Its refined aesthetic combined with high performance makes it perfect for installation in conference rooms and places of worship, as well as in venues with live music or electronic music. Bluetooth connectivity offers True Wireless Stereo to connect multiple columns together without the use of cables. QSC KC12-BK is quick to install, making it a perfect solution also for temporary installations.

The distinctive element of this series is the introduction of the 'LEAF' waveguide for high-frequency dispersion - a technology patented by QSC - already used in the line arrays of the L Class series. This offers a horizontal coverage area of 145° and 35° vertically with just one speaker.

QSC KC12-BK uses a 1” compression tweeter for high frequencies, while the mids are handled by 2 x 4” high-excursion drivers. For the lows, there is a 12” cone capable of reaching down to 40Hz.

On the rear panel, there is an LCD display and a rotary encoder that allow you to view and adjust the DSP functions and manage Bluetooth routing, respectively. 2 combo inputs (XLR/TRS ¼’) and a mini-jack input are accompanied by their respective volume controls. The potentiometer for input 'C' can also be used to adjust the volume of the incoming Bluetooth signal. Regarding outputs, there are 2 XLRs; the first is a thru output connected to input 'A', while the second can be assigned the post-DSP mix out of one of the 3 inputs or the sum of all inputs. Finally, we have a USB-C port for firmware updates that can also charge portable devices like smartphones or tablets.

The innovation introduced by QSC KC12-BK

The QSC KC12-BK system consists of a subwoofer housing a 12-inch cone capable of reaching down to 40Hz. The innovation introduced in the tweeter of this model is the combination of the 1-inch compression driver with the waveguide, patented by QSC, LEAF™ (Length-Equalized Acoustic Flare), while for the midrange, we have two 4-inch high-excursion drivers. Thanks to this 3-way design, the system provides exceptional full-range horizontal coverage of 145° H x 35° V directly to the audience, with clean and natural sound at all output levels.

Loudspeaker Control App

QSC KC12 is compatible with the 'Loudspeaker Control App', an application developed to control QSC speakers equipped with Bluetooth directly from your phone. The Loudspeaker Control app offers immediate access to essential audio controls, without the need to physically interact with the user interface located behind the speaker.

This latest update introduces a significant improvement to the Bluetooth® multi-cast audio functionality of the QSC KC 12, adding a dedicated Stereo mode. Now it is possible to achieve superior performance and fidelity for stereo connections with two speakers, in addition to the existing multicast streaming for 2-4 units.

How to update the firmware of QSC KC 12

    
1. ) Access your user area on the official QSC website to download the KC Updater for Windows or Mac systems: CLICK HERE
    
2. ) Open the KC Updater software

    
3. ) Connect the column system to the computer with a USB-A to USB-C cable

NB. The software does not recognize SuperSpeed+ connections. Therefore, it is always recommended to use a USB-A Male/USB-C cable.

If our computer does not have USB-A ports, we should use an adapter

    
4. ) At this point, click on the 'Upgrade' command

       E. ) Once the process is complete, the KC 12 will turn off and restart automatically, at which point you can disconnect the speaker.

NB. Leaving the KC12 turned off and connected via USB to a powered-on computer could cause electrical damage to the internal circuitry, always disconnect the unit before turning it off.
