It features GE-Scalloped bracing for increased brilliance and sound projection, a further lowered GE Modified Low Oval neck profile, and a more chamfered heel, neck, and bridge for greater comfort, along with bone bridge pins. It has a nut width of 44.45 mm, a scale length of 645 mm, and a gloss finish on the top, back, and sides.</h1><h2>Overview of the Martin & Co. J-40 (2025)</h2><p style="text-align: justify;">Classically styled with a narrow-waist jumbo body shape, the J-40 is crafted with East Indian rosewood back and sides, a spruce top, and a dovetail neck joint. It produces a beautifully balanced sound with powerful response and projection, enhancing the artistry of the songwriter and session player. Featuring gold open-geared tuners and Martin's most comfortable high-performance neck, this rare Martin body size boasts a gloss finish and a Jumbo tone that sets you apart.<br />One of the main new features of the 2025 Standard series is the use of Sitka spruce Golden Era (GE) bracing for the soundboard, a detail also found in the Modern Deluxe series, which provides a more vintage and airy tone with enhanced sustain. The neck with the modified "Low Oval" GE profile retains its classic shape but has been optimized for a vintage appeal. The fingerboard has been thinned and features rounded edges for greater comfort, while the string spacing at the nut has been perfected. The new GE "modern belly" bridge features softer, more comfortable angles. Standard Series guitars are now equipped with bone or ebony bridge pins, depending on the model.
