In the mid-1980s, Sir George Martin commissioned legendary console designer Rupert Neve to build a series of no-compromise, innovative console modules for AIR Studios. These modules were hugely successful and formed the basis of Focusrite studio consoles, widely regarded as the best-sounding analog recording consoles of all time. Today, products derived from these modules are used in top studios worldwide, and the sought-after Focusrite Heritage Sound is at the heart of thousands of hit records. Focusrite's current ISA series brings the classic Focusrite sound to your studio or live performances.

Featuring a portable and robust chassis, the ISA One combines Focusrite's classic microphone preamplifier with a flexible, independent DI channel and optional 192kHz precision A/D conversion.

The heart of the ISA series is the microphone preamplifier and its Lundahl input transformer – virtually the same circuit based on the original ISA110, used in all Focusrite designs for 30 years. The input transformer gives a special character to the sound that cannot be emulated otherwise: inseparable from the microphone itself, the transformer input stage is ideal for use with classic microphones. But, unlike the original design, this mic pre has a special feature that makes it much more versatile: 4 carefully selected impedances that allow you to match an input microphone in different ways. You can bring out the character of a classic microphone or emphasize a particular characteristic, or achieve a completely transparent modern sound – the choice is yours.

Whether you are a musician, sound engineer, or producer, you will appreciate the versatility of the ISA One, with its front-panel DI input. The DI channel includes a low/high impedance switch and an amplifier output, separate power supply for the optional A/D converter, and a separate XLR output on the rear panel.

The ISA One can feed the sum of the two inputs to the headphone output, or to an external stereo cue mix (like a stereo signal from an interface) via 2 TRS jack inputs on the back of the unit.

Dedicated Insert Points

Allow you to insert external processors such as an EQ or compressor between the preamp, or DI, and the optional converter.

Optional 192kHz Stereo A-D Converter

You can choose to upgrade the unit with an optional digital card that guarantees best-in-class A-D performance, with a dynamic range of 118dB.
