Description

The 500 series Lunchbox project was originally developed and used by API (Automated Processes Inc) to provide the use of modular microphone preamplifiers, compressors, and equalizers. API units have been popular for many years as a proprietary format, but over the past few years, many companies have started building modules compatible with API 500 series specifications. The IGS Audio Panzer 500 Lunchbox, hand-built with materials of absolute quality, is a 10-slot rack capable of housing 5.25"x1.5" outboard gear compatible with the API 500-series, and equipped with an external power supply capable of delivering 420mA per slot. With 500 series modules, you can have a wide variety of sounds as if you had a "mixed" tracking or mixing console available. This way, you are not tied to having a certain number of preamps, EQs, or compressors of the same brand. The Panzer 500 Lunchbox features all I/O connections for each slot/module in XLR format on the back panel. Thanks to the jumpers included in the package, adjacent modules can be easily linked. The first strong point is that the units are small and easy to install and remove. This allows you to configure your rack on-the-go. You can always carry your favorite outboard gear with you: in the space of 3 rack units, you can have processors that would normally occupy 16 units.
