The JGM11 is the signature electro-acoustic guitar model from the high-end Platinum Collection series by British guitarist Jon Gomm, who is part of the current generation of virtuoso musicians that favor a percussive style, capable of evoking a rhythm section (bass lines and percussion) on the guitar in addition to melodic lines.

The guitar's asymmetrical body is based on the Jumbo concept. The guitar's soundboard is made of solid spruce specifically vacuum-heated (Thermo Aged). The result is a lightweight and hard top reminiscent of wood dried for several decades. The back and sides are made of solid African mahogany. A Macassar ebony fingerboard with twenty jumbo stainless steel frets is glued to the five-piece mahogany and maple neck. The instrument's slightly longer scale (655 mm) is ideal for the alternative tunings used by Jon Gomm. Luminescent dots on the side provide an overview of what's happening on the fingerboard even at dusk.

A specific feature of the guitar is the rather complex way of capturing the acoustic sound (the Fishman PowerTap Earth Blend system), which offers microphone/contact sensor detection in addition to the active Fishman Rare Earth Mic Blend electronics, which use a combination of humbucker and cardioid microphone detection. This system is therefore able to pick up even the subtlest vibrations of the body and neck, providing the guitar with a wonderfully rich acoustic sound with dynamic accents of percussive elements - and without the risk of feedback.

The guitar's two jack outputs offer the possibility of stereo (separate pickup and microphone signals) and mono connection. The strings are held in place by a bone nut and a compensated bone saddle, with chrome Gotoh tuners and non-traditional banjo tuners (Keith Banjo Tuners Stainless Steel). The luxurious craftsmanship is accentuated by wooden elements in the form of body binding, decorative inlays on the fingerboard, and a rosette.
