KORG i3 MB also features advanced connections such as: Audio OUT L/R, Headphone, Pedal, USB port for memory devices and USB/MIDI for computers, MIDI Out (DIN). It has dual power supply: with AC adapter (included) and Batteries (6x AA).

Content and Form of KORG i3 MB

KORG i3 MB is a complete Workstation with a 61-key velocity-sensitive keyboard with 3 dynamic response curves and a fourth fixed setting. The Transpose keys shift the keyboard's Pitch up or down by two octaves, with octave increments. The professional Joystick controls Pitch Bend, vibrato, and brilliance during performance; an additional two-band EQ (Low and High) adjusts the overall timbre. All front panel buttons and controls are logically grouped by their functions, while the backlit Custom LCD display provides visual feedback of current settings, and a rotary encoder quickly changes parameter values. The dark finish, rubberized surface, and sculpted panels are important details of its exclusive design.

The sound of KORG i3 MB

KORG i3 MB has more than 800 PCM sounds carefully created by an international staff of programmers and expert musicians; a complete GM2 set is included for compatibility with General MIDI; to which 59 Custom Drum Kits are added. The sound engine develops 64 voices of polyphony, with two stereo effect processors with 173 different FX. The operational logic of KORG i3 MB distinguishes Sound Sets, i.e., sounds playable in real time on the keyboard; and Style Performance Sets, i.e., sounds and parts generated to support musical performances. There are 200 Sound Sets, each of which can use up to 4 sounds: 3 layered on the upper part (Upper) of the keyboard, and 1 on the lower part (Lower) by activating Split mode; this mode has a dedicated button for its immediate activation. In the same way, it is always possible to recall the Grand Piano sound from any condition thanks to the dedicated button.

KORG i3 MB helps to fix and organize musical ideas, enriching each performance with interactive support from bass, drums, percussion and all the instruments most suited to the selected musical style; from a Funk horn section, to guitars, to a string quartet, to an old blues organ. 270 Styles are available, with 8 accompanying tracks, 4 rhythmic variations, plus: Intro/Ending, Count Down & Break. Four Performance Set memories recall the backing parts and real-time parts on the keyboard. The Volume or Mute of each playing part can be adjusted with dedicated buttons; all parts used by the Style can be processed by two independent stereo effects, each with 173 different FX types, furthermore, on the Style Performance Set it is possible to modify sounds and parameters personally. 8 Chord Buttons provide or suggest harmonic solutions ready for composing or completing a song. The sum of these elements of each Style offers a complete environment to support musical creation.

Managing KORG i3 MB

On KORG i3 MB Music Workstation you will find various functions to play, compose, record, save and recall your musical pieces. All settings used: Performance Set, Sound Set, Tempo, effects, etc., can be saved and recalled in a Set List location; there are 50 locations (5x10 Banks). The Sequencer can record in MIDI on 16 tracks, with export as SMF, and is also able to play audio files in .WAV (44.1 kHz) or MP3 format. Furthermore, Performance Recording mode records and exports in Audio format (.WAV 44.1 kHz), in real time an entire performance on the keyboard.

Using KORG i3 MB

KORG i3 MB Music Workstation features a complete range of connections and control options on the rear panel to meet any musical need. The keyboard can be powered by AC mains via the power adapter (included with safety clip), or by batteries. On the rear panel there are two audio outputs with 1/4" Jack connectors (Outputs: Left/Mono & Right), a headphone output with 1/8" stereo mini-jack connector, as well as an Audio In input also with 1/8" mini-jack connector. It is also possible to connect a pedal with assignable functions, such as Damper or Volume/Expression. There is a MIDI OUT (DIN) socket to control external equipment, and two USB ports: USB TO DEVICE for the use of memory devices such as a Flash drive, and USB TO HOST for connection to a computer.
