The Gibson ES-275 is a compact hollow body designed as a more modern and manageable alternative to large archtops like the L-5 or ES-175.

The P-90 MHS make it more open, “raw” and dynamic
It has more attack and “wood” in the sound
Less compression, more touch response

It's a cross between:

a classic jazz archtop (like an ES-175)
and a more roots/blues hollow body

Widely used for:

modern jazz
blues
soul / funk
also indie and alternative

Plus, the P90 version is much rarer
