Description

The Genelec 7270A active DSP subwoofer changes the rules of environmental correction, elevating it to new standards of accuracy and flexibility. This precision system, suitable for low-frequency monitoring, has been designed for modern 6.1 or 5.1 multichannel systems as well as stereophonic listening systems.With an extended frequency response from 19 Hz, high output sound pressure, and a versatile digital bass management system, the 7270A is suitable for all situations where precise and detailed low-frequency monitoring is required. The amplification unit is integrated into the cabinet and consists of an active DSP-based crossover filter, an overload protection circuit for the driver, and a power amplifier. The integrated bass management system supports 8 digital input and output channels in AES/EBU format (4 XLR connectors). The crossover for the main channels has an adjustable cutoff frequency between 50 and 100 Hz. The input for the LFE channel (input 4) has an adjustable low-pass filter between 50 and 120 Hz and a sensitivity selector adjustable to 0/+10 dB.The GLM™ (Genelec Loudspeaker Manager) network control software further enhances the 7270A's performance: it allows for the adjustment of levels, delay times, phase, and equalization to improve the response in the listening environment, thanks to the sophisticated yet intuitive AutoCal™ automatic calibration system. The chassis integrates Genelec's LSE™ (Laminar Spiral Enclosure™) bass reflex system, constructed from a single spiral-bent metal sheet held together by MDF side panels. Thanks to this revolutionary construction technique, it is possible to have a wide duct even in a small cabinet, benefiting from excellent laminar airflow that is as immune as possible to turbulence noise.
