Description

MXR EVH 5150 Overdrive is the overdrive pedal from MXR by Jim Dunlop featuring multi-stage MOSFETs, a 3-band EQ, a Boost switch, and a noise gate. This overdrive offers a complete sonic range in the style of Eddie Van Halen.

OVERVIEW

The MXR design team collaborated with Eddie Van Halen to deliver a full range of overdrive and distorted tones. The EVH 5150 Overdrive uses multi-stage MOSFETs combined with a set of controls capable of providing tube amplifier-like overdrive tones. Whether in the studio or on stage, the EVH 5150 Overdrive's controls allow you to achieve all of Eddie's signature sounds, from early classic tones to more recent high-gain distortions.

The Output and Gain controls set the volume and distortion level respectively, while the 3-band EQ section shapes your sound to your liking. The Boost switch provides extra gain and compression, and the Gate knob prevents annoying hums thanks to the Smart Gate® circuit. The pedal is True Bypass and comes in a road-ready chassis with the legendary EVH artwork.

POWER

This pedal can be powered by a 9-volt battery or, alternatively, by a 9-volt power supply such as the Dunlop ECB003, DC Brick, Iso-Brick, or Mini Iso-Brick (not included).

CONTROLS

Gate: adjusts the threshold and lights up yellow when active;
Output: adjusts the overall volume of the effect;
Bass: cuts or boosts low frequencies;
Mid: cuts or boosts mid frequencies;
Treble: cuts or boosts high frequencies;
Gain: adjusts the intensity of the overdrive;
Boost: increases gain and compression;
