Esi U46Xl

The U46 XL is a multi-channel external audio interface that features 4 inputs and 6 outputs, making it highly suitable for various live and studio applications.

Like its predecessor (U46DJ), it has two stereo line inputs, a microphone input with +48V phantom power, and a headphone output.

However, this model boasts important new features such as improved converters and a professional microphone preamplifier with an XLR input.

The unit also features a high-impedance input for direct guitar connection (Hi-Z), and two independent stereo line inputs on the rear panel that provide 4 simultaneous inputs.

On the back, there are also 6 independent outputs, ideal for 5.1 surround applications, as well as for providing the necessary outputs for software samplers/synthesizers or for DJ applications.

A stereo left/right mix output is also available.

One of the most interesting features of the U46 XL is its driver support for the DirectWIRE protocol, which allows internal recording of signals from one application to another.

The U46 XL works with the ESI EWDM technology-based driver in Windows XP and Windows Vista, but it is also Mac OS X compatible.
