The Epiphone 1984 Explorer EX is a reinterpretation in the 80s construction style of the model launched by Gibson in 1958. During the 80s, as many know, the first active EMG pickups were introduced and Floyd Rose bridges took hold, creating a real shockwave within the guitar industry. The new 1984 Explorer EX embodies the typical specifications of instruments from those years that are still the benchmark for Hard Rock and Metal guitarists today.

In particular, the guitar features a balanced and not excessively heavy solid mahogany body, perfect even for those who play the instrument for several hours a day. The mahogany neck is joined to the body by a glued joint and has an extremely fast SlimTaper™ “D” profile. The 22-fret rosewood fingerboard has a 14" radius, perfect for the most technical and modern guitarists.
