Dean Markley makes these strings with an original approach to composite winding. With the exception of strings under 050, all other strings are made by building up their mass with incrementally smaller wires. The winding directions are reversed between layers to "hatch" the covers and make the string smoother. Another important factor is the "core to cover ratio" which varies from time to time, achieving the right mix for the best playability and durability. The perfect mix of mass, tension and a lot of other engineering marvels that result in a massive sound and high-rev performance, so much sound, resonance and sustain.
