Thanks to the C.A.S.T. system, the N22 is perfect for distributing audio in the studio or on stage with streamlined and affordable cabling, using a Cat5 cable to carry balanced analog audio signals to and from other compatible products (e.g., another N22).Advanced C.A.S.T. Breakout Box Studios already using a Cranborne Audio interface can simply connect the N22 to the C.A.S.T. IN port, and audio connected to the N22's inputs will appear directly on the audio interface, ready for recording. IN ports of a 500R8 or 500ADAT: audio present at the N22's inputs will be sent directly to the interface for recording. Meanwhile, a stereo monitor mix generated by the 500R8/500ADAT will be routed from the same C.A.S.T. connection directly to the 1/4” jack and line XLR outputs.Standalone Cat5 MulticoreYou can replace bulky and expensive analog multicores by using two N22 units to transmit and receive audio between two different locations. For example, you can use an N22 connected to an audio interface to distribute signals to a vocal booth, a live room, or perhaps temporarily, to a hallway that needs sound, using a single CAT5 cable.Headphone Audio Distribution with N22HThe N22's big brother is the N22H. Equipped with all the features of the smaller model, but with reference quality and a high-power headphone amplifier.Using the same design as the flagship 500R8, the N22H headphone amplifier is a crucial tool for engineers who want to drive their headphones properly.By connecting an N22 with an N22H, the C.A.S.T. system can be used to carry headphone amplification wherever needed, with just one CAT5 cable. With an output impedance of 0.33 Ohms, up to 500mA of power per channel, and low distortion (THD = 0.0003% at 1kHz), the N22H’s headphone amplifier offers clean amplification with enough volume to drive any type of headphones.
