COSTALAB GOOD DEVIL EFFECT PEDAL

Don't be fooled by the infernal livery of the CostaLab Good Devil. To date, it is our most versatile, fun, and usable overdrive pedal in our catalog.

With a guitar equipped with single-coil pickups, you can go from a clean, warm boost to an organic, dynamic, and harmonically rich crunch. With humbuckers, you can achieve high levels of saturation, and by interacting with the gain and tone controls, you can go from Blues to Rock to Heavy Rock.

The Good Devil behaves like a true tube amplifier: with the gain control at maximum, you can manage the amount of saturation by gently strumming the strings or by lowering the guitar's volume, without ever losing body and fire in the mid-range frequencies.

The "Blade" button changes the character and attack of the pedal: it's almost like switching from tube rectification to solid-state rectification.

Paired with a distortion pedal, perhaps the Costalab Bad Angel itself, you'll find that the most complex and fast phrases will be simpler and more expressive!

Used with low gain settings, you'll easily be able to reproduce the typical Clapton-style sound, achieved with the amp at maximum volume.

Use it in front of an amplifier on its overdrive channel to get extremely fluid, expressive, and harmonically rich leads.

Specifications

The circuit is based on an operational amplifier with characteristics of silence and stability ten times superior to normal operational amplifiers with Mosfet technology.

Like all CostaLab products, this pedal is very quiet, even with the most extreme settings.

This is possible thanks to the improvements made to the entire circuit and in particular to the power supply lines which are doubly filtered. The Good Devil is equipped with a "true bypass" mechanical switch system with gold-plated contacts and has an anti-pop system.

The pedal is powered by 9 volt DC, connected via the classic 2.1 mm DC connector with a negative center.

It is possible to over-power the circuit up to 12 volts DC to obtain a sound with greater headroom.

The unit can also run on a 9 Volt battery. In this case, the circuit is activated by inserting the input jack.

To prolong battery life, it is advisable to remove the input jack from its socket when you stop using it.

It is still possible to keep the battery inside the pedal even when it is powered via the DC socket because the power supply system is able to automatically exclude it.

The pedal measures 118 x 60 x 34 cm excluding knobs and jacks.
