COSTALAB BOOSTER

The CostaLab Booster is the pedal that started the CostaLab brand experience. It is an important tool for every guitarist, as it not only serves to increase volume but, more organically, to "push" the downstream connected device.

Using it with a tube amplifier, you can, for example, switch from a crunch sound to a powerful and creamy lead sound, using only the amplifier's dynamics.

Similarly, it can be used to add more saturation to an overdrive. Finally, the CostaLab Booster, when used at the end of the effects chain, can also be used to raise one's volume during a solo.

Being particularly quiet, it can be used at high gain levels without contraindications. Precisely because of its predisposition to use in such situations, the pedal has been equalized in such a way as to have a slightly veiled response in the high frequencies, with a warm and soft sound, very reminiscent of the sound produced by tube devices. It is well known that with distorted and harmonically rich sounds, the addition of an additional gain stage often results in high frequencies that are too harsh, in addition to an increase in background noise.

The CostaLab Booster is also capable of functioning as an attenuator, as the volume control can be set to zero, while at maximum excursion, the pedal is capable of gaining 26 dB.

The CostaLab Booster is equipped with a "true bypass" mechanical switch system and features an anti-pop system.

Power is 9 volts DC and connects via the classic 2.1 mm DC connector with a center negative. Current consumption is less than 20 mA. The unit can also operate with a 9-volt battery. In this case, the circuit is activated by inserting the input jack.

To prolong battery life, it is advisable to unplug the input jack when not in use. It is, however, possible to keep the battery inside the pedal even when it is powered via the DC jack, as the external power system is able to automatically exclude it.

The pedal measures 118x60x34mm excluding the knob and jacks.
